Dutch School, third quarter 19th century. "Skaters at a Dutch Quay" - 1876, oil on canvas, signed and dated lower right. Naturalistic horizontal landscape painting with figures in wintery scene, at center a large frozen lake bearing many people riding on sleds and horse drawn carriages before stone and wood structures and docked boats set on the far bank before a windmill, a second windmill at right in distance beside homes with smoking chimneys, the scene at dusk with highlighted clouds in a blue sky. Christie's label to verso of frame. Framed approximately 32.875" x 44.25". Unframed approximately 23.5" x 35.25".
