Continental, possibly Spanish,18th century with mid-18th century inset tiles. An oak table with chip carved Baroque or Mannerist style decoration, the rectangular top comprising a c-scrolled chip carved border centered by inset later applied blue and white Delft tiles each depicting a biblical scene, the frieze decorated with a pattern of chip carved half-round sunbursts punctuated by circular chip carved motifs with two frieze drawers with patinated bronze Rococo style pulls and cabochon escutcheons, the corner blocks with chip carved tree of life motifs, all raised on four legs headed by bulbous turnings terminating in the octagonal legs decorated with circular incised and chip carved leaflike patterns, raised on ring-turned toupie feet. Approximate height 27.75, width 52.75", depth 34".
