"Prototype Ricochet" Patek Philippe & Cie. Genève, No. 796996, case No. 2623982, Ref. 788/3. Made in 1963. Very fine and rare 18K gold "Ricochet" keyless dress watch with original chain. Accompanied by the Extract from the Archives. Hand-made, solid, heavy, two-piece, asymmetrical with radial"sunburst" chasing. Gold, with en suite decoration, blackindexes. White "bâton" hands. Notes ît is extremely rare to be able to present in the same sale two watches of such great rarity and designed by the same artist, proto-type Ricochet watches of the same shape, one a wristwatch and the second a dress watch. It was produced in two versions: - first series: with an adjustable jumping hour hand; -second series: with a second adjustable blued steel jumping hour hand; the manufacture of this second device began in March 1962. Seal of Geneva Quality Mark The best Geneva movements were punched with the Seal of Geneva Quality Mark. This is a trademark of the Office of Geneva Control of Watches established on November 6, 1886. Paragraph 3 of the statutes states that the watches awarded the Seal of Geneva Quality Mark must "after examination prove to have a perfect mechanism to ensure regular and durable functioning".
