“Dieu Toujours Avec Vous” Louis Duchène et Fils, Geneve, No. 73330. Made circa 1790. Very fine and rare, 18K gold, enamel and hardstone rococo style egg-form pendant watch. Two-body, egg-form, pierced rococo flower and scroll goldwork over a green hardstone base, hinged lid with the inscription “Dieu Toujours Avec Vous” in white enamel, ring suspension loop. White enamel with Arabic numerals, outer minute track. Blued steel Breguet hands. 21 mm. (9 1/2’’’), frosted gilt full-plate, fusee and chain, verge escapement, three-arm brass balance, flat balance spring, pierced and engraved continental type balance cock, gilt regulation dial. Dial and movement signed. Dim. 44 x 32 mm. Notes Louis Duchène (1730 – 1804) Specialised in fantasy watches with repeating and automata. From 1791 the company was called Louis Duchene & Fils.
