Johannes Ernst Spangenberg(Easton Bible Artist, Southeastern Pennsylvania, active 1774-1812) - Taufschein, hand-drawn watercolor and ink on laid paper, for Peter Seib, Forks Township, Northampton County 1797, the upper section with 3 plump musicians playing horns flanked by red, blue, orange, and green floral trees, of script and a lower section with 2 hearts flanked by fanciful birds with various decorations, an orange, green, and blue tulip tree and a floral tree, a very fine example, 16" x 13". Provenance: George Horace Lorimer collection. Pictured in Fraktur Writings or Illuminated Manuscripts by Dr. Donald A. Shelley, plate 208.
