1/5 th Seconds Foudroyante” Poitevin Fabricant, No. 15986. Made for Tiffany & Co., New York, circa 1880. Very fine and unusual, hunting-cased, keyless, 18K yellow gold pocket watch with double train and independent center- seconds with 1/5 seconds foudroyante and stop feature. Four-body, "bassine et filets", engine-turned covers, reeded band. Hinged gold cuvette. White enamel with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track and outermost 1/5th seconds track with Arabic five second numerals, subsidiary dial for the 1/5 seconds “diablotine”. Blued steel "Breguet" hands.
