“River Landscape” Mottu, Geneva. Made circa 1840. Very fine, thin, 18K gold and enamel pendant watch. Three-body, the back with polychrome enamel seen of an alpine valley with a river flowing through framed by white champlevé enamel with foliate sprays, the bezel decorated to mach the frame. Hinged gold cuvette. Gold engine-turned with Roman chapter ring, the center and outer with floral and folliate decoration, outer dot minute divisions. Blued steel spade hands. Notes Daniel Mottu was a watchmaker working in Geneva during the second half of the 19th century. He is recorded at Quai des Etuves 30 in 1861.
