“Quarter-Repeating Chronograph” Swiss, No. 12381. Made circa 1900. Fine, large, keyless, quarter-repeating, 18K pink gold pocket watch with chronograph and adjustable centrifugal governor. Four-body, "bassine et filets", solid, polished, hinged gold cuvette with various award medals, glazed cover to view the movement. White enamel with large painted Arabic numerals, outer minute track and outermost chronograph divisions, subsidiary seconds dial. Pink gold “Louis XVI" hands. Cal. 21’’’, frosted gilt, 19 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance with screws, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator, visible chronograph work, repeating on gongs by activating slide on the band, adjustable centrifugal governor to regulate the speed of chiming.
