“Summer Flowers” Marc Chantre, Genève, No. 28356. Made circa 1920. Extremely fine, 18K gold and painted on enamel keyless dress pocket watch with a matching gold and enamel chain and the original fitted morocco box. Four-body, polished, the back cover finely painted with flowers including roses, pansies and bellflowers against a dark blue translucent guilloché ground, the bow decorated with dark blue guilloché champlevé enamel. Hinged gold cuvette. Enamel, decorated with flowers to match the case, applied raised white enamel cartouches with black Breguet numerals, outer white enamel minute track. Frosted gold “Breguet” hands. Cal. 17’’’, 39 mm, frosted gilt, 17 jewels, straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, flat blued steel balance spring, index regulator. Cuvette signed. Diam. 49 mm. Notes Marc Chantre horloger & marchand, is recorded working in the Quai du Mont-Blanc 3, Geneva, in 1907.
