“The Swing” German, circa 1810. Fine and rare 18K yellow gold pocket watch with swing automaton. Three-body, “bassine et filets”, engine-turned back, reeded band. Eccentric, set into the lower part of a silver guilloché and flower engraved plate, white enamel with radial Arabic numerals, minute dot divisions with five-minute Arabic numerals, the top with a semi-circular aperture for the automaton scene, which is entirely painted on ivory. The girl on the swing is linked to the balance, and moves to and fro between two boys. Gold “Breguet” hands. Notes Published in the Sandberg book, page 180-181.
