“Savonnette” Léon Hatot, Paris, Breveté S. G.D.G, made circa 1930. Very fine and rare, Art Deco, square, "Savonnette" 18K yellow gold gentleman's wristwatch with concealed dial. Two-body, massive, polished with hinged and spring loaded cover. Two-tone silver with applied yellow gold Breguet numerals. Yellow gold "Breguet” hands. Notes Montre bracelet "ouvrante" , Breveté S.G.D.G. Manufactured under a Patent granted to the firm of Leon Hatot, this concern wristwatches with the dial concealed beneath an hinged spring loaded cover. The intention was to apply an enamelled or engraved monogram, although few of the surviving examples have in fact been decorated. A similar watch in yellow gold was sold by Antiquorum on 21 April 1996, lot 298.
