Fine and very rare, keyless, center-seconds, 18K gold pocket watch with playing card dial featuring the suit of clubs and stop feature. To be sold without reserve Four-body, “pomme et filets”, by Thomas Russell, (mastermark TR), solid, polished. Hinged gold cuvette, gold stop bolt for precision setting at 1. White enamel, two-piece with club playing cards for the numerals, outer minute track. Blued steel spade hands. Cal. 46 mm, frosted gilt, 3/4-plate, 19 jewels, lateral counterpoised lever escapement, cut-bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator. Dial and movement signed. Diam. 56 mm. Notes Watches with playing card dials are very rare. Another example is in the La Chaux-de-Fonds Musée Internationale d’Horlogerie.
