Perpetual Calendar Clock with Moon Phases French, signed P. Ltre, No. 930. Made circa 1870. Very fine and rare, gilt-brass and white marble, 8-day going mantel clock with perpetual calendar, moon phases, equation of time indication, hour and half-hour striking and visible Brocot escapement. Rectangular, multi-piece, gilt-brass pillars, white marble moulded flat top and base, four sides glazed with bevelled glass, hinged front and back doors. Two-piece, white enamel, radial Roman numerals, outer minute divisions, recessed center with apertures for winding, visible Brocot escapement with jewelled pallets, regulation arbour above 12. Blued steel Breguet hands. Dial below for the perpetual calendar, two-piece white and painted on enamel, outer ring for the months concentric with equation of time indication, the center with subsidiary dials for the date and days of the week, aperture for the moon phases. Blued steel hand with gilt sun, gilt-brass dial mask engraved with foliate scrolls. 90 mm., gilt brass, circular, going barrels for both trains, Brocot escapement, striking the hours and half-hours on a bell, geared to the calendar mechanism below.
