Fine, large, asymmetric, center seconds, self-winding, waterresistant, stainless steel professional diver’s wristwatch with date on a stainless steel Omega link bracelet with deployant clasp. Accompanied by a recent Omega box. Two-body, massive, polished and brushed, bidirectional revolving graduated bezel for decompression times with red security push-button at 7 o’clock to lock the bezel, screwedin and protected winding crown at 3 o’clock, bezel inclined and reeded, flat back with horizontal anti-slip groove pattern, sapphire crystal. Blue with painted luminous baton indexes, outer minute/ seconds divisions, date aperture. Luminous white hour and second hand, luminous orange minute hand. Cal. 1002, copper-colored, 17 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, monometallic balance, shock absorber, selfcompensating flat balance spring. Dial, case and movement signed. Dim. 45 mm x 55 mm. Thickness 14 mm. Approx. overall length 170 mm. Notes Ref. ST 166.0077 While other diving watches used helium escape valves to solve the problem of the crystal “popping” during decompression, Omega created an impenetrable case. They were able to create a vacuum in the case such that it would take 1000 years at normal atmospheric pressure for air to penetrate the case.
