French, 19th century. Pair of matching Louis XV style armchairs or fauteuils with cream painted frames with antiqued or weathered finish. Oval backs with ribboned border and floral crest at top, acanthus leaf and scrolled arms. Oval medallion back, elbow rests, and shaped seat with fine silk floral motif fabric upholstery, verso of oval backs with dotted fabric. Cabriole legs at front under patera blocks, decorated with more acanthus leaf tips and terminating on scrolled toes, splayed legs at back. Overall approximate height 37", width (across arms) 23.25", depth 19.25", seat to floor 17.5". _x000D_
