Vauchez – Peace & Plenty Vauchez A Paris. Made circa 1780. Very fine, 18K gold and painted on enamel pocket watch. Two-body, "Louis XVI", the back decorated with a painted on enamel scene depicting Peace holding out an olive branch and Plenty with flowers at her side in an Arcadian landscape, the bezel and border chased with stylized leaves. White enamel, radial Roman numerals, outer dot minute divisions with five-minute Arabic numerals, winding aperture at 2. Gold Louis XVI hands. 43 mm, hinged, frosted gilt full plate with flared cylindrical pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement with micrometric potence adjustment, brass balance with flat balance spring, pierced foliate chased continental cock with polished steel endplate, silver regulation dial. Dial and movement signed. Diam. 53 mm.
