Joly a Paris. Made circa 1790. Fine, 18K gold, painted on enamel and pearl-set pocket watch. Two-body, Directoire, the back finely painted on enamel depicting a couple walking in love in a landscape, translucent Royal blue guilloche background, pearl-set border and bezel, engraved band. White enamel, Arabic numerals, outer minute divisions and Arabic fi fteen-minute numerals. Gold fancy hands. 42 mm., hinged, gilt brass full plate with turned pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement with micrometric potence adjustment, plain brass three-arm balance, continental cock with polished steel endplate, silvered regulation dial. Diam. 50 mm.
