Thomas Tompion, London, No. 95, circa 1690.Fine silver cased watch with alarm. Double body bassine with split bezel, the band engraved with a mask and pierced with inhabited foliage. Silver champlevé with Roman numerals and outer Arabic minute ring on matted ground, the centre with alarm setting disc. Blued steel "poker and beetle" hands. Hinged gilt brass full plate with tulip pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain steel three-arm balance, flat balance spring, gilt brass florally engraved, open work cock with irregular foot.Signed on the back plate.Diam. 48 mm.
