French, made for the Chinese Market, circa 1890. Fine gilt bronze, eight-day going Mignonette with porcelain panels. Gilt bronze “Bambu” with side panels and back door porcelain panels painted with Chinese scenes over an ivory ground, glazed top panel. Porcelain, decorated en suite with Roman numerals on a white chapter ring. Blued steel “spade” hands. Brass rectangular with going barrel, gilt brass platform straight line lever escapement, bimetallic balance, Breguet balance spring.Dim. 80 x 54 x 48 mm. excluding the handle.
