A. Lange & Söhne, Glashütte, No. 11879, circa 1880.Very fine and rare 18K varicolored gold hunting-cased keyless pendant watch. Four-body, "bassine et filets", profusely engraved and engine-turned, the center with an applied cartouche with a gold floral and foliate frame in white, yellow and rose gold, back en suite in green, white, and yellow gold, gold hinged cuvette. Silver, champlevé radial Roman numerals, outer minute divisions, center with applied gold floral pattern, border with applied gold repeated pattern, subsidiary sunk seconds. Blued steel "fleur-de-lis" hands. Notes Lange's watches are rarely so profusely decorated. This watch was most likely destined for the Spanish or South American market.
