Emilio Giuseppe Dossena (Italian, 1903-1987). "Sailboats", oil on canvas, signed lower left "Dossena". Painting depicts a ocean scene with a cluster of sailboats at right, some with sails down and carrying passengers, and other boats scattered along the horizon line, with the foreground water presented as tumultuous with white caps throughout, and a section of land jutting into the water at left, the scene set beneath a hazy blue sky with thin clouds. Label to verso of stretcher with biographical information on the artist. Framed approximately 25 3/8" x 33 1/2", unframed approximately 20" x 28".
