Accompanied by a certificate. three-body, solid, polished, reeded bezel, "Niello"-decorated inner case back depicting a foxhunt motif, sapphire crystal. matte silver with painted Arabic numerals, auxiliary seconds dial, concentric ring for the date, aperture for the day of the week. "Epée" blued steel hands. Cal. 836, rhodium-plated, "fausses-côtes" decoration, 21 jewels, straight line lever escapement, monometallic balance, shock-absorber, self-compensating flat balance-spring.Dial , case and movement signed.Dim. 26 x 42 mm. Notes Niello,is the method of decorating metal objects using engraving techniques. The process involves rubbing an alloy of silver, copper, lead and sulfur into an engraved pattern on silver or gold which is then fired leaving darkened areas in the crevices after the object is polished.This technique was commonly used in Europe up until the Renaissance. It was known in Kiev in the 10th through the 13th centuries, and revived in Russia in the 16th and 17th Centuries. Niello was also used throughout the Imperial Period, although it was most often employed by silversmiths in Moscow or in provincial centers.
