Vaucher Freres, Geneva and La Chaux-de-Fonds, circa 1830. Very fine 18K gold, skeletonized, slim, quarter-repeating watch with visible repeating work. Three-body, “Empire”, engine-turned back cover, reeded band, glazed cuvette. White enamel chapter ring with Breguet numerals, outer minute divisions, center with visible skeletonized and engraved pillar plate. Blued steel “Breguet” hands. 51.3 mm ø, inverted caliber, full back plate, bridged front, cylinder escapement, plain gold three-arm balance, blued steel balance spring, polished steel cock, repeating on gongs by depressing the pendant.Signed on the edge of the case, back cover inside stamped “IF2805” and with chevron.Diam. 57.5 mm. Notes It is rare to find watch of this type in such good condition.Vaucher Freres were very well known makers specializing in unusual and high quality watches.
