E. H. Jaccard & Cie, Genève, circa 1885.Very fine 18K gold, hunting cased keyless minute-repeating watch with automaton Jacks. Four-body, "forme Etui", both covers engine-turned, the front with initial cartouche, gold hinged cuvette. A gilt putto holds two bells on which Chronos strikes the hours while another putto helps him by striking the quarters and minutes, with a gilt horn-of-plenty below, small Roman chapter ring in the center in cream enamel, numerals within gold paillon cartouches, outer gold paillon dot minute divisions. Blued steel "feuille" hands. 45 mm ø, nickel, straight line damascening decoration, 31 jewels, straight line counterpoised lever escapement, cut-bimetallic compensation balance, Breguet balance spring, lever-set, repeating on gongs through activating slide in the band.Signed on the case.Diam. 59 mm.
