Bosphorus ViewUnsigned, Geneva, made for the Islamic market, circa 1930. Very fine and rare 18K gold and painted on enamel hunting-cased, jump-hour, slim pocket watch, accompanied by a matching gold and enamel key and chain. Four-body, "bassine", back cover finely painted on enamel with a view of the Bosphorus, a village in the background with a sunset behind mountains, gold and opaque white enamel scalloped frame, border in champlevé azure enamel with white enameled foliage, front with two apertures; the top one for the jump hour, the lower one for the seconds, both within a painted on enamel rose pattern, azure background with gold and white enamel foliate and floral decoration, pendant and bow en suite, gold ad enameled hinged cuvette entirely decorated with floral motifs of blue enamel on a flinqué ground. Chain of five gold and enamel links terminated with Breguet type gold and enamel chain. White enamel, top with jump hour aperture (Islamic numerals), eccentric minute track with 15 minute Islamic numerals, subsidiary sunk seconds. Gold counterpoised "lozenge" hand.
