Markwick Markham-Perigal, London, No. 166, made for the Islamic market, circa 1780.Fine gilt silver triple-cased watch. Outer: double body, tortoiseshell-covered with silver piqué work on the edge, middle: two-body, polished, inner: double-body, bassine with deep back part. White enamel with Islamic markers, outer minute divisions with five-minute Islamic markers. Blued steel "Breguet" hands. 41 mm, hinged, gilt full plate with pierced pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, plain steel balance with flat balance-spring, single-footed cock.Signed on dial and movement.Diam. 73 mm.
