Constantinople, circa 1660. Fine and extremely rare gilt brass and silver, large, oval, engraved, pre-balance spring, single-hand astronomical pendant watch with date, days of the week, phases and age of the moon. Two-body, "fermée type", both covers made of silver engraved with arabesques, massive gilt brass band with silver ribbon pierced and engraved with a floral pattern, oval pendant, loose ring. Set on oval iron plate applied with a pierced and engraved gilt brass plate with stylized floral and foliate pattern, Islamic hour chapter on applied silver ring set in the lower part, Islamic silver ring for age of the moon at the top with phases of the moon aperture inside, days of the week aperture to the left, Islamic date aperture to the right. Blued steel "tulip" and "fleur-de-lis" hands. Oval, 64 x 56 mm, gilt with applied pierced and engraved plate in floral pattern, unusual wide Egyptian pillars, fusee and gut, verge escapement, circular 3-arm brass foliot, irregular cock.Dim. 86 x 65 mm.
