Baltazar Martinot (l’ainé), Paris, circa 1680. Very fine and very rare leather-covered, silver, single-hand, early balance spring pendant watch without fusee. Three-body, transitional oignon, leather-covered brass backdecorated with silver stud rosette, the whole pinned to the silverbody, the bezel en suite, polished movement sitting ring. White enamel, radial Roman numerals, inner quarter-hourring. Blued steel "goose neck" hand. 34 mm, hinged, vasepillars, going barrel, 4-wheel train set on the periphery, vergeescapement, 3-arm steel balance, trefoil cock with small sym-metricalfoot secured by a screw.Signed on the movement.Diam. 41 mm.
