Johann Gottlieb, Thÿm, circa 1730. Fine gilt bronze quarter striking horizontal table clock with pull quarter-repeating. On satyr’s feet, glazed sides with silvered frames, masks on each corner, molded base with hinged bell bracket, engraved top. Silvered ring, radial Roman numerals, outer arcaded minute divisions with five-minute Arabic markers, whole on engraved gilt plate, center with later silvered plate engraved “1705”, two (later) movement holding screws. Steel pierced hands. Square, 69 x 69 mm, gilt brass, fusee and chain, fixed striking barrels, verge escapement, three-arm brass balance, flat balance spring, striking on a bell.Movement signed.Dim. 95 x 95 mm.
