Attributable to Bontemps, Paris, circa 1920. Fine silver gilt and enamel singing bird box. Rectangular, the enamel top panel, painted with a pastoral scene, side panels with pale blue and azure flinque enamel with paillonne and black champleve enamelled decoration, front and back panels decorated en suite, each centred with a riverside landscape, the enamel lid of the bird painted with a young boy feeding birds in a net. Gilt brass rectangular with rectangular bellow and fly regulator, the going barrel with two cams driving the movements of the bird, moving wings, beak and pivoting. Dim. 39 x 102 x 64 mm.
