Very fine and rare, self-winding, rectangular "galbe", 18K yellow gold gentleman's wristwatch with tourbillon escapement, 18K gold deployant clasp, accompanied with a leather fitted box and a certificate. massive, polished, hooded lugs, back winder. sun rays engraved gold with indexes for the hours, apertures for the visible tourbillon regulator on the 11, and the oscillating weight of the automatic winding. "Feuille " burnished steel hands. with automatic winding, 32 jewels. Signed on the dial and the movement, numbered on the case. Dim. 29 x 36 mm. Notes This watch is the first model of self-winding wristwatch with tourbillon beeing and is the flatest and the smallest in the world. The movement is only 4,8 mm thick, and Audemars Piguet had to use the back of the case as back plate. For the first time in the History of horology, it has been possible to realize a tourbillon in titanium, very light and resistant metal. A similar watch is published in Audemars Piguet, p. 274.
