Thomas Young Silver "Shutter" Watch, London, No. 206, c. 1700, the silver champleve dial with symmetrical birds and foliate designs, upper blued steel shutter inscribed T. Young which when the pendant is depressed, opens to a silvered Roman numeral chapter ring, the lower shutter inscribed London and when opened, the Arabic minute ring, center squared arbor to set the time, the full plate, gilt, chain fusee, verge-escapement movement marked Tho. Young/London/206 , with tulip pillars, finely pierced balance cock, foot and silvered regulating dial, dia. 55 mm. Movement complete and cleaned , case with usual age-consistent wear, name and origin now faint on blued steel shutters.
