Philo of Alexandria [aka Philo Judaeus] (20 BC-50 AD) La Vita di Mose . Venice: Bevilacqua, 1560. Quarto, translated into Italian by Giulio Ballino, with a new dedication, dated 1560; intermittent yellow stain along the top edge on some leaves, in later half calf. Philo was a Hellenist whose source was the Jewish Bible. For Philo, Moses was especially central as a direct conduit for divine revelation.
