Pre-Civil War Massachusetts Militia Coatee, hand-sewn maroon broadcloth with yellow turnbacks on skirt, ten brass buttons marked Mass Volunteer Militia , stitched metallic corporal stripes on each sleeve, cuffs with yellow backing, metallic stitching with four buttons, and two brass epaulettes with woven fringe. Moth damage throughout. Treble Gilt stamped on rear of buttons.
