Brass Grande Sonnerie Carriage Clock, France, c. 1890, the brass and beveled glass case with bowed sides, twist columns with Corinthian capitals, dentil moldings and carrying handle, 2-in. dia. porcelain dial with Arabic numerals, lower alarm dial all surrounded by a engine-decorated gilt brass dial mat, eight-day time, strike, petite and grande sonnerie striking movement with platform escapement and strike selection lever on the underside, ht. with handle extended 8 1/2 in. Movement wants cleaning, striking functioning properly, all glass in excellent condition, some discoloration on original lacquered surfaces.
