Emil Nolde (German, 1867-1956) Frau N (Frau Ada Nolde), 1911, final state of three, edition of about 20 (Schiefler, I165iii). Signed "Emil Nolde." in pencil l.r., titled in pencil l.c., annotated along the lower edge. Etching with aquatint on paper, plate size 9 x 7 1/8 in. (23.0 x 18.2 cm), matted, unframed. Condition: Margins over 6 inches with deckled edges, minor nicks and crease to edges (primarily along the right edge), subtle soiling, cockling to edges. The sheet measures 25 1/4 x 19 3/4 in. There is soiling to the margins, together with handling ripples. On the verso is a faint (unidentified) collector's mark.
