Timothy H. O'Sullivan (American, 1840-1882) South Side of Inscription Rock, N.M., plate 14 from the GEOGRAPHICAL & GEOLOGICAL EXPLORATIONS & SURVEYS WEST OF THE 100th MERIDIAN; EXPEDITION OF 1873. Identified within the text surrounding the image, duplicate stamp from the Library of Congress on the reverse. Albumen print on paperboard, sheet size 13 1/2 x 17 1/2 in. (34.3 x 44.4 cm), framed. Condition: Toning, mat burn, soiling, rubs and thinning along the edges (most of the way around). Provenance: From the collection of Austin Lamont, by family descent. Skinning and cloth tape hinges to mount on both sides, handwritten inscriptions within the composition are printed within the negative and not on the print, fingerprints to the mount.
