Dutch School, 19th Century A Crowd of Revelers Unsigned. Oil on canvas, 43 3/8 x 60 1/8 in. (109.5 x 152.8 cm), framed. Condition: Patch reinforcements, old repairs, retouch, craquelure, abrasions, surface grime. Stamped on the canvas and frame with what appears to be a custom's stamp, "CELNI URAD W PRAZ..." in a round format. Lined, with four canvas patches to the reverse--three over repaired holes, the largest hole measuring approx. 1 1/2 x 1/2 in. to u.l. quadrant. Abrasions to l.l. quadrant, with the longest measuring approx. 3 in. length. Fine craquelure throughout with "peaking" to the surface from skinning. Retouch throughout, both over and under the varnish layer, with the largest area of retouch to the l.r. quadrant measuring approx. 5 x 2 in. at its extreme height and width. Surface grime to l.r.
