Group of Seven Whimsical Candle Holders, a pair of white metal clowns with conical candle cups balanced on their noses, ht. 9 3/4; a ceramic holder modeled as a pipe atop a hand of playing cards, stamped "G.D. Paris," ht. 2 1/4; a brass foot with clamp to hold a candle, ht. 4 1/2; a holder supported by three "jewel" encrusted spiders, ht. 2 1/8; a reclining gilt-metal chambermaid supporting a barrel-form sconce with her leg, ht. 5 1/2; and an Art Nouveau-style copper holder formed as a nymph emerging from a tree trunk, ht. 7 in. The metal clowns with all-over loss to paint, yellow one with repaired breaks at neck and ankles; repaired break to pipe handle and chips to playing cards; some verdigris patina to foot, scattered pitting; some corrosion to gilt metal spiders; pitting and corrosion to chamber maid; crack to base of copper nymph, and break to branch near head, base drilled for screw.
