Pair of French Empire Walnut Fauteuil en Cabriolet, early 19th century, the rectangular backrest with slightly everted crest rail, with downswept arms ending in shepherd's crook uprights, with overupholstered seat, on front cabriole and rear sabre legs, full ht. 36, wd. 22 1/2 in. both with worming to front edge of seat; one with larger holes than the other in the area, and also to one side of edge of seat; this chair with replaced seat blocks to front rail. one chair with repairs to join of arm upright to seat, and to top section of upright (both on the left side of chair as facing it). age typical scuffs, nicks and gouges throughout. modern maroon upholstery with gold bee and wreath pattern.
