Whimsical Doulton Lambeth Salt-glaze Figural "Virago" Inkwell, c. 1905-1908, designed by Leslie Harradine, depicting a stern woman with arms crossed and stamped with "Votes For Women", ht. 3 1/2 in. See Eyles, Desmond, The Doulton Lambeth Wares , London, 1975, plate XLVI, illustrated in color. Very good condition throughout with no cracks, chips or restorations. The metal hinge is a replacement.
