English Cottage-Form Painted Desk Box, late 19th/early 20th century, wood applied with painted paper, the roof mounted with straw thatching, each side with one dormer, one side with two chimneys, the sides of house painted with windows and doors, accented with foliage, trees, and figures of a lady, a child with a lamb, and a courting couple, the hinged lid opening to grain painted interior, with paper covered removable pencil box over set of four drawers, all on brass ball feet, ht. 14.75, 15.375, dp. 12 .75 in., (losses to straw thatching, some fading/toning, minor gouges to chimneys, minor age wear).
