Mario Botta Quinta Chair Steel Italy, design date c. 1985 Steel rod framework with perforated sheet steel seat and back, Alias label, ht. 27 1/2, dp. 21 1/2, wd. 17 1/2 in. Literature: Charlotte & Peter Fiell's "1000 Chairs" p. 568. Botta began to design furniture in the early 1980s, predominantly for Alias. He also designed lighting for Artemide. In 1986, the Museum of Modern Art in New York honored Botta with a one-man exhibition. His furniture is included in that institution's permanent collection.
