Brass 8 1/2-inch Radius Double Frame Bridge Sextant by Ramsden, London, dated 1800, straight bar pillar frame with inlaid gold scale divided 0-130 and engraved "Ramsden London," sliding index arm with vernier, thumbscrew lock, fine adjustment and worm screw positioning of the index glass magnifier and engraved Samuel Landon AD 1800 , 5 1/8 in. brass telescope, mirror, horizon glass, shades, brass rod feet, the base of the instrument stamped 1415 , ebony handle and fitted birch box. Note: This instrument is nearly identical to one by Jesse Ramsden (NAV1107) at the National Maritime Museum, London. Carrying box possibly later than the instrument, brass in old lacquered surface.
