Clementine Hunter (American, 1886-1988) Church Procession Monogram initialed "CH" l. r. Oil on Masonite, 11 1/2 x 15 1/2 in. (29.2 x 39.4 cm), unframed. Condition: Craquelure, minor losses at center, nail holes in the u.r. and u.l. quadrants. Scattered flaking and losses, mostly to the yellow pigments of the dress of the figure entering the church as well as a few scattered losses in some of the figures l.c. Mild varnish inconsistencies and surface grime so that the work would probably benefit from a gentle cleaning,
