Cloisonne Enameled Box with Ming Jade, China, 18th century, the rectangular box decorated with stylized lotus blossoms on a turquoise ground, the cover inset with a celadon jade plaque, intricately carved and pierced as a phoenix flying amidst a multitude of flowers, the jade of early Ming period (15th/16th century), ht. 2 1/2, lg. 6 1/2, wd. 5 in. Minor loss to the jade carving and the cloisonee enamel, rubbing to the gilt borders
