Hanging Scroll, Pan Gongkai (b. 1947), ink and light colors on paper, depiction of lotus flowers, dated 1993, signed Gongkai , three seals, 17 1/2 x 16 1/2 in. N.B. Pan Gongkai, son of Pan Tianshou (1897-1971), was the President of the China Academy of Art in Hongzhou from 1996 to 2001, and has been the President of the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing from 2001 to present. He emphasizes on the grasp of structure, order, and force in painting, and advocates to develop modern painting by incorporating the Eastern and Western influences. No damage.
