Large Swatow Plate, Chinese export, 16th century, painted in red, green, and black enamels with a peony branch in the central medallion, encircled by a border with alternating reserves of flower and fruit sprigs on brocade ground, all against a pale gray crackled glaze, base unglazed, dia. 13, ht. 2 3/4 in. Crack line to the interior, rubbing to the enamel.
