Dutch Colonial Queen Anne Carved Hardwood Side Chair, 18th century, shaped backrest with openwork caned vasiform splat above a balloon seat and plain apron; legs carved with anthemion, elongated leaftips and beast faces carved on the pad feet, seat ht. 20, wd. 20, dp. 17 in. Sold for the benefit of the Brooklyn Museum. Overall very good condition; slight looseness in the joints and the caning broken in spots on the backrest; minor rubbing and slight loss to front feet; age typical addtional minor defects.
