Bloor Derby Porcelain Figure of a Bookish Gentleman, England, c. 1820, possibly Dr. Syntax, modeled in powdered wig, blue coat, and striped yellow breeches, standing amidst scattered books, ht. 5 1/2 in. professional restorations to nose, and hands, with losses to item that was in left hand, and to fingers of right hand. Hairlines to left knee and right ankle. minor wear to gildings, and touch-up chips to edges of base.
